Katie’s Cup is well known for being one of the greenest buildings in the Rockford area. Here are a few examples of how that works:- Solar panels heat nearly 50% of the buildings water- The entire 1st floor is heated and cooled geothermally- The carpet is made from recycled carpet- The ceramic tiles are partially made from recycled glass- The wood floors are bamboo- Motion sensor lights are installed throughout the buildingKatie's Cup also features local artwork/crafts, book selections (both new and used), bulk coffee and a variety of gifts everyone will love.

Katie's Cup was opened in January of 2009 by ZION Development in partnership with Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries. WHO IS KATIE? Katie’s Cup is named after Katharina Luther, the wife of Martin Luther – the famous Protestant Reformer. Martin is remembered for being at the center of the social, theological, and political changes of the Reformation. But Katharina is remembered for her generous hospitality. The vision of Katie's Cup is to be a fabulous coffee shop and lunch spot. But it is also to be a hub in the neighborhood for community. We want to improve the neighborhood and the lives of people who live and work here.

First Friday Rockford

First Friday is a great event put on by "The Element". Its purpose is to draw attention to local food, shopping, art, and entertainment in down town Rockford. Katie's Cup has just recently become a part of these events and is getting our calendars booked with great music and artists! Swing on by every first Friday of the month (6-8 pm) for some great food, drinks, and entertainment!

The Katie's Choice Book Club meets the third Monday of every month as well as the following Thursday. The monthly book selections are available for purchase at Katie's Cup.

Katie's Cup has several rooms available for rent. We would love to host your next business meeting, luncheon, birthday party, bridal or baby shower or any other event you may be planning. Below are the rooms you can choose from.Denver Bitner RoomWeekdays: $25/hour (Mon-Fri from 7am-4pm)Weeknights & Weekends: $50/hour (2 hour minimum)Community RoomWeekdays: $15/hour (Mon-Fri from 7am-4pm)Weeknights & Weekends: $30/hour (2 hour minimum)**The Community Room will only be open for weeknight/weekend rentals when the Denver Bitner Room is NOT available.**Katie's Cup CoffeebarOnly available afterhours for $50/hour with a two hour minimum. You may also add a barista to serve food/drinks for an additional $25/hour.
